In collaboration with the Victorian State Government, Swinburne University of Technology has launched a new industry hub to empower Australian aerospace. The Aerostructures Innovation Research [AIR] Hub focuses industry and university development in four themes:

• Digitisation
• Intelligent Manufacturing
• Advanced Composite Materials
• Advanced Air Operations and Human Factors

To demonstrate the role of these themes, the hub has four main sub-sectors:

• Civil aircraft
• Advanced Air Mobility
• Technology Activation
• Hydrogen Fuels

The MOU between NextAero and the AIR Hub establishes a concerted effort to work together along these streams. The hub will support NextAero through activation of new technology in manufacturing and NextAero’s design for manufacture flowpath.

We look forward to working with the industry hub in an area where the state of Victoria has a powerhouse of aerospace organisations such as Boeing, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Thales, and others.
